Part I: What you’re allowed to do:
I try to be chill. )

Part II: What I’m allowed to do:
Note: this may change should Tavi ever be canon-updated to have full access to his crafting.
Tavi is a formidable character any way you cut it, with or without furycrafting.
He calls himself an over-empowered engine of destruction. He is. )

Characters Played at Ataraxion: None!

Most of my life, I have been known as Tavi of Bernardholt, in Calderon Valley of Riva. Then I became Tavi Patronus Gaius, and Tavi ex Cursori. In the time you have known me, Crassus, my name was Rufus Scipio, Third Subtribune and later Captain of the First Aleran. But my name... )

In trying to edit/update this post, it dawned on me that the capabilities the healing talents of watercrafting are way too detailed to include if I wanted to make that post accessible either as a 'quick reference' for myself or other Aleran RPers, or anyone wanting to read about this.

As a result, here now are collected observations on what watercrafting can heal, with some notes on power level. Keep in mind that this is very quick-and-dirty, as there is a continuum of talent and skill, not discrete values. It is also done as much as possible by book canon; however, some inter-and-extrapolation was necessary.

A general rule is that watercrafting does take energy out of both healer and healee, but surprisingly little, for the most part. How exhausting any one injury is seems to vary inversely with skill, and how much seems to depend a lot on context (and possibly mindset). The standard Healer's Mantra to a patient (especially of an injury) after healing is, "Drink lots of water, eat lots of meat, get lots of rest."

In a startlingly familiar turn of events, I play a boy with a certain absolutely mad and maddening set of character traits and abilities.

The tl;dr is this: he is top of the line realistically humanly genius trained spy, assassin, analyst, general academic, engineer, and a touch of lawyer, or maybe slightly above it because of a supernatural instinct/occasional precog. In other terms: hyper-competent, deadly genius. His understanding of technology is limited by unfamiliarity with anything above Roman/medieval with magic and occasionally even less than that, even if he is dangerously quick to learn.

Crazy genius boy )

Thanks for the help!

Tavi is a horribly complicated character for someone with so straightforward a plot. Leave some input on how I'm playing him, especially if you (shock of shocks) know his canon. Standard comment screening etc. apply, but don't be afraid, I won't bite.

Codex Alera: Out of Milliways

Entries sorted by order in timeline

List of links )

[ooc: Any unlinked entries are unfinished/unwritten/otherwise not ready for reading. A lot of these are mostly speculative; if you have any suggestions for others, or OOMs in the Aleran universe not in Tavi's journal you'd liked to be linked to on this list, ping the mun.

It may be noted that, for the most part, there aren't many OOMs planned for in canon books. For the most part, they've been done already by Jim Butcher, and very well. I don't particularly feel like threading six books worth of material--or even just the two, three, or four that come from events Tavi is present for.

Again: for questions, suggestions, or requests, please ping the mun (see profile).]

This is derived from canon information wherever possible. Note that canon is occasionally inconsistent, so a few liberties were taken. Anything with a * is 'we are told this happened/logic dictates this should have happened around this time, but it is unclear.' Especially with pre-First Calderon dates, assume that the exact year may vary based on actual months; this is just an estimated rough sketch. For pre-First Calderon birth dates, the unstarred ones are still approximations, with more firm basis in canon (I.E., Antillus Raucus is apparently 54 or so in Princeps' Fury).

Seasons are provided where possible. Of note is that we have no freaking clue how Alerans count years--by emperor, date from founding of Realm, what have you. I am operating under assumption that at some point a standard 'Anno Regni' (entirely to avoid an Anno Imperii abbreviated as A.I. because my brain can only take so much) count was implemented, accurate to within some degree of reasonableness. Also, we hear about a holiday called 'Wintersend' which seems to actually correlate to the start of spring, so I am positing that they count years from spring.

Not quite a hundred years of history... )

As ever, questions, comments, concerns, contact me! More dates may be added as they are deemed necessary. (I am not timelining out every little encounter in the books. Probably.)
